For evening and bridal wear, ideally you should start the process 4 – 6 months ahead of the date your garment is required. This allows time to discuss ideas, formulate a design and order fabric, if necessary. Construction work should commence 2 -4 months ahead of the required date, depending on the complexity of your garment.
No. This service is offered free of charge, where we can get to know each other. We can discuss your ideas, fabrics and the atmosphere of the event you are attending to identify some style options for you. This is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions and view samples of my work.

Differences in design, fabric, embellishments and engineering all affect how much work will be involved in creating a custom garment and will be unique for each project, as will therefore be the price. I charge by the hour and take many factors into consideration when arranging a price for your creation, so your quoted price will reflect the work involved in designing and constructing your unique outfit. I am able to give you a cost estimate once we have some idea of the design you have in mind and the fabric we will use and you will be provided with a detailed design and cost proposal for your acceptance prior to your booking being confirmed.

This is partly the purpose of the initial process of constructing a toile. This allows an opportunity to see the basic silhouette, refine the fit and discuss details such as the depth and shape of the neckline, the fullness of the skirt or sleeve length. Allowing the design to develop during the initial fittings is the best way to achieve a style and fit that leaves you feeling beautiful and confident.
Once you accept the design and cost proposal, a deposit of 10% is required to hold your booking. 30% of the estimate is due at the commencement of the patternmaking and toile stage, a further 30% prior to cutting your actual fabric and the remaining 30% upon completion. Full payment must be received prior to collection of your garment. Payment can be by either cash or bank transfer.
Consultations and fittings are by appointment only. Appointments are available Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. Limited evening and Saturday morning appointments are available but frequently will be booked in advance.
